You are well placed for an ideal opportunity for wildlife watching; red squirrels are often seen in the woods surrounding Kirkmichael.
Edradour, Scotland's smallest distillery is only ten miles away and offers free trips and tasting. Both Glasgow and Edinburgh are near enough for a day trip and Royal Deeside too is very accessible - a lovely drive through Glenshee amid stunning mountain scenery. This is also an ideal place to stay if you want to ski in Scotland as the ski resort of Glenshee is just 10 miles away.
